The Geddy Lee Amalgamation Signature Chorus​, as one would expect, is specifically tailored for bass. And specifically, with Geddy’s valuable input.
Housed in a compact pedal, the Geddy Lee Amalgamation offers an unusual amount of flexibility to achieve a variety of choral effects. It is capable of recreating the kinds of choral tones typically attainable ​only in a pro studio.​
​With its Detune control​, you can adjust the pitch of the choral voicing, adding sonic girth to create thick, lush, bass-compatible chorus.
Activating Deviate mode alters the Detune function and adds an additional voicing for even more depth –as if 3 people are playing at the same time. Speed and Depth adjust the modulation, from sober to slightly tipsy to downright “wobbly.”
As with each Tech 21 product, the controls are designed to give you the flexibility to obtain your desired sounds, not just a one single one-trick pony. It is our hope that the Geddy Lee Amalgamation Signature Chorus will be a useful tool for stimulating your creativity and, ultimately, providing the inspiration to play your best.
FEATURES
• DETUNE shifts the pitch of the choral voicing up or down. As you increase, the pitch goes up/sharp. As you decrease, the pitch goes down/flat. At unity (12 o’clock), there is no pitch shifting. The Detune control enables you to have a chorus sound without any modulation when Speed and Depth are at minimum.
• SPEED controls the speed of the modulation from 0.2 Hz to 10 Hz.
• DEPTH controls the depth of the modulation, becoming more and more “wobbly” as you increase the setting.
• LEVEL, which is not commonly found on chorus pedals, adjusts the overall output level to ensure against the typical drop in volume when a pedal is engaged.
DEVIATE MODE
Provides a more pronounced effect, and is particularly useful for solos. It alters the functionality of the Detune control, adding greater depth as if 3 people are playing at the same time.
